I have decided to embark upon 1 month of eating at McDonald's 3 times a day. You can read my journal daily. Why am I doing this? I believe that McDonald's has been the recipient of a rather unfair amount of negative press lately. No one would claim that Mc Donald's is a health food restaurant. It is something that you eat once in a while. No one has to do dishes, the kids are happy to get a little plastic toy -- and possibly to run around in a the play area. It is as their commercial says, "You deserve a break today." In short, I think there's a better way to raise the public awareness of health and nutrition than by bashing a particular fast food chain. So if I don't think a burger, fries, and a coke are a nutritionally sound diet why am I doing this? Because that isn't all Mc Donald's offers. They have, in keeping with our somewhat more health conscious society, decided to add a few healthy items to their menu. It is my plan to eat one of their yogurt parfaits for breakfast followed by one of their salads for lunch and dinner. I will, however, have the burger, fries, and coke on Sunday. :) Will I be snacking between meals? Yes. Things like apples, peanuts, etc. Will I be taking vitamin supplements? Yes. I will take my normal supplements. I will take fiber with breakfast, and a packet of vitamins with lunch and dinner. My vitamin brand is "Daily Advantage". Will I be excersizing? Yes, but no more than usual. Some push ups, some sit ups, etc. What proof is there that I'm really doing this? I'll be saving the receipts, I'll take some pictures of myself and keep a journal on this website. Am I getting paid for any this? No. I wouldn't mind it if someone makes me an offer after the fact, however. :) | |||||||
